Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16th August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Xcession Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, what they do, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice.
We use Civic Cookie Control to manage consent on our website. When you first visit, only strictly necessary cookies are set. Analytics and marketing technologies are not loaded until you have given your consent through our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Revisit consent” option on the site.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device to help it function, remember your preferences, or understand how the site is used. Some technologies (such as tracking pixels and “etags”) work in a similar way to cookies even though they are not cookies themselves; where relevant, these are covered below.

The cookies we use
We group the cookies and similar technologies on our website into the categories below.
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the website to work and to remember your cookie choices. They are always active and do not require consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| CookieControl | Civic Cookie Control | Stores your cookie consent preferences so the banner does not reappear on every page. | ~3 months |
| WordPress session cookies | Xcession (this site) | Core cookies that allow the website and its forms to function. | Session |
2. Analytics - consent required
These help us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it. They are only set once you accept analytics cookies via our banner.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| _ga | Google Analytics (GA4) | Distinguishes individual visitors to help us measure how the site is used. | ~13 months |
| _ga_PKS09WLL75 | Google Analytics (GA4) | Maintains session state for our specific Analytics property. | ~13 months |
3. Marketing & social media - consent required
Our website embeds video content from YouTube (for example on our Xcession TV page). Until you consent, videos are shown as a link rather than an embedded player, and no YouTube cookies are set. Once you accept, the following cookies may be set by YouTube when you view a video.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
| VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE | YouTube (Google) | Estimates your bandwidth and remembers video preferences. | ~6 months |
| YSC | YouTube (Google) | Remembers your interactions with embedded videos. | Session |
| __Secure-YNID | YouTube (Google) | Used by YouTube to store preferences and other information. | ~6 months |
4. Live chat
Our website uses a Leadoo chat tool (the “Chat to us” widget) to let visitors ask questions. Leadoo uses “etag” tracking, which works in a similar way to cookie-based tracking to recognise returning visitors across sessions. This tool loads when the page loads. You can find out more in Leadoo’s privacy policy at https://leadoo.com/privacy-policy/, and you can prevent this tracking by clearing your browser’s cache after your visit.
Managing your cookie choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “Revisit consent” on our website, which reopens the cookie settings panel. Turning a category off stops the related cookies being used and removes those already set where possible.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that if you block all cookies (including strictly necessary ones), parts of the website may not work properly. Guidance for common browsers - Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari - is available in each browser’s help pages.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to the law. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
